Health and Safety Notice

This time of year we see a rise of head lice problems. To reduce the incidents of head lice, review the following information, as well as check your child’s hair for possible head lice infestation.

Please remember the following:

*Anyone who comes in close contact with someone who has already had head lice, contaminated clothing or other belongings is at risk for getting head lice.

*Head lice are commonly found on the scalp behind the ears, near the neckline, and on top of the head

*Symptoms are a tickling feeling of something moving in the hair, itching, sores on the head

Treatment:

*Wash hair with a head lice treatment shampoo

*Wash bedding, articles your child sleeps with, clothing

*Items that cannot be washed: put in a trash bag, tie the end shut, let stay for        two weeks, or throw away

*Do not share combs, brushes, hoodies, caps, other clothing, head phones

*Examine your child’s head everyday for the next couple of weeks.

Thank you,

Bill Wallace Administration
